  1. Prof. Md. Akram Hossain
    Prof. Md. Akram Hossain, FRCP (Edin), MPhil, MBBS, is a Senior Consultant of Microbiology and Head of Laboratory Medicine at Apollo Imperial Hospitals, Bangladesh, where he also serves as Chairman of the Infection Control Committee and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. After Graduating from Dhaka medical College, Obtained his MPhil degree from IPGM7R under Dhaka University in 1989.akram
    With over 30 years of teaching and research experience, he has supervised 4 PhD candidates under the JSPS Ronpaku Program and 39 MPhil/MD/MPH students under Dhaka University and BSMMU.  A recipient of the Commonwealth Medical Fellowship (UK) and JICA Fellowship (Japan), Prof. Hossain has authored 5 medical textbooks and published 136 research articles, including 26 as first author, covering fields such as microbiology, medical education, and epidemiology. He has also contributed extensively to academia as Assistant Editor and Advisory Board Member of the Mymensingh Medical Journal and as a peer reviewer for multiple national and international journals.

    2. Dr. Mahfuza Nasrin
    Dr. Mahfuza Nasrin is an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Uttara Adhunik Medical College. She is the focal person of the Infection Control Committee, a member of the Bio-safety Committee at Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital, and an editor at the Uttara Adhunik Medical College Journal and surveillance microbiologist for National AMR surveillance of Bangladesh. She obtained her MBBS degree from Bangladesh Medical College in 2002 and her MPhil in Microbiology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2011. She was awarded the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal for securing the highest marks/CGPA in the faculty of Basic Science and paraclinical science in the M. Phil (Microbiology) Exam in 2011. Her research interest is in Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial and Diagnostic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control, Emerging Infectious diseases, Biosafety and biosecurity, and Immunology.mahfuz
    She got training on these topics, medical education and applied teaching methodology from several national and international institutes. She also attended international workshops on Hospital Infection Control in 2020 and Antimicrobial Stewardship in 2023 at JIPMER, Pondicherry, India. She participated in various collaborative research projects with IEDCR and the American Society for Microbiology; and US CDC. Her recent research on Hospital acquired infection Surveillance in Five Tertiary Care Hospitals in Bangladesh, which are collaborated with the NIPSOM and CDC, DGHS. Dr. Mahfuza has authored several peer-reviewed publications in various national and international journals, as well as one of the contributors to the National IPC guideline for COVID-19. She is an Executive member of the Bangladesh Society of Medical Microbiologists as well as a proud founding member of the IPC Alliance, Bangladesh. She is also a Life member various national medical bodies.
     
    3. Dr. Sourav Nath
    Dr. Sourav Nath is a healthcare professional with over a decade of experience in clinical care and hospital management. He holds an MBBS degree, a Master’s in Epidemiology. Currently serving as Manager of Medical Services at Apollo Imperial Hospital, he leads quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and institutional review processes. His research interests include Healthcare Quality, Occupational Health, Digital Health, and Clinical Governance. nathHe has published multiple research articles in international journals focusing on healthcare quality, occupational health, and health systems improvement. He is the convener of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Apollo Imperial Hospital and actively contributes to quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and hospital performance monitoring.
     

    4. Dr. Ayesha Ahmed Khan
    Dr. Ayesha Ahmed Khan is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS), Chattogram. Adjunct Professor at Department of Public Health, Premier University, Chattogram. She is the office secretary at the research cell of IAHS and web editor at the Institute of Applied Health Sciences Medical Journal. She obtained her MBBS degree from USTC in 2011 and her MPH in One Health from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in 2022.aysha MPhil in Microbiology from Chittagong Medical College under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2024. Her research interests are in Public Health, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control. She got training on medical education and applied teaching methodology from several national institutes. She also attended international and national workshops and presented her paper as an oral presentation. She worked as a research assistant at Apollo Imperial Hospitals Ltd, Chattogram.

    5. Dr. Sultana Zahura Afrin
    Dr. Sultana Zahura Afrin is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Tangail Medical College (TMC), Tangail. She is the Co-focal person of Medical Education Unit of TMC and Member of editorial board of Tangail Medical College Journal (TMCJ). She is also working as an Adjunct Consultant in Microbiology Department and focal Person of Infection Prevention and Control Committee of Buro Health Care Foundation (BHCF). She previously worked as a Research Physician in Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF). She obtained her MBBS degree from SSMC in 2013 and her MD in Microbiology from Mymensingh Medical College under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in 2021. She was awarded with National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship for her MD thesis work.

    She is an Intermediate Field Epidemiology Training Program, Bangladesh iFETP, B Fellow (US-CDC) and a Prospective PhD student in Charles Strut University, Australia (Session November, 2025) Her research interests are in Molecular Virology particularly SARS CoV-2 and Nipah Virus, Fungaemia, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control. She published her research works in several peer reviewed journal. She attended workshop on Antimicrobial Stewardship in JIPMER, Puducherry, India and on Biosafety and Biosecurity in Wuhan Institute of Virology. She presented her research work in national and international conferences as both Oral and Poster presentations. She was awarded for best presentation in ‘Cell and Molecular Biology’ category in 27th APSR Congress, Singapore. She is an enthusiastic Researcher and Microbiologist.

    6. Prof. Dr. Mosammat Fahmida Begum

    Prof. Dr. Mosammat Fahmida Begum, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), is Professor and Head of Microbiology at Uttara Adhunik Medical College. With over 30 years of academic and professional experience, she has contributed extensively to antimicrobial resistance surveillance, infection prevention and control, microbiology education, and national training initiatives.

    7. Prof. Dr. Rumana Alim

    Prof. Dr. Rumana Alim, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), is a Professor of Microbiology at Medical College for Women and Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka. With nearly three decades of experience in medical education, she has served in academic positions since 1995 and has been contributing to microbiology teaching and training since 2006.

    8. Prof. Dr. Ummey Shahnaz Parvin

    Prof. Dr. Ummey Shahnaz Parvin, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), is Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at US-Bangla Medical College and Hospital. With nearly 20 years of experience in medical education and infectious disease research, she specializes in antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, and microbial genetics.

    9. Dr. Kakali Halder

    Dr. Kakali Halder, MBBS, BCS, MD (Microbiology), is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Dhaka Medical College with over nine years of teaching, laboratory, and research experience. Her expertise includes Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Antimicrobial Stewardship, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) programs.

    10. Dr. Swarna Paul

    Dr. Swarna Paul is a Medical Officer in Microbiology at Chittagong Medical College with an MPhil in Microbiology and over six years of teaching and academic experience. Her expertise includes microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and infectious diseases. She has authored/co- authored multiple national and international publications, leads research on Helicobacter pylori and HPV, and has completed advanced training in bioinformatics, genome analysis, sequencing, and research methodology.

    11. Dr. Md. Bayzid Bin Monir

    Dr. Md. Bayzid Bin Monir, MBBS, MD (Microbiology), is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Centre (NILMRC), Dhaka. With over 10 years of experience in clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and medical education, he has led high-throughput RT-PCR laboratories, contributed to infectious disease research, and specializes in antimicrobial resistance, laboratory quality management, and postgraduate medical training.

    12. Dr. Tasnim Ahsan

    Dr. Tasnim Ahsan, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Ibn Sina Medical College, Dhaka. A clinical microbiologist with nearly seven years of teaching experience, she specializes in undergraduate medical education and laboratory-based microbiology. She has authored and co-authored five scientific publications and is committed to advancing microbiology education, research, and diagnostic laboratory services.

    Dr. Farha Rahman, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), is Assistant Professor (CC) in the Department of Microbiology at Bangladesh Medical College. With 20 years of teaching experience, she specializes in microbiology education, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, laboratory quality assurance, and biosafety. She has authored several national and international publications, serves as a reviewer for Dove Medical Press, and has presented research at scientific conferences in Bangladesh and abroad.

    Prof. Dr. Md. Abdullah Yusuf, MBBS, MPhil (Microbiology), MPH (Epidemiology), is Professor of Microbiology at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, Dhaka. He has received prestigious WHO Fellowships in Medical Microbiology at Mahidol University, Thailand, Human Rabies Diagnosis at NIMHANS, India, and Biosafety and Biosecurity training at the National Institute of Health, Thailand, supported by the European Union and Public Health England. He has also participated in the COPE Meeting in London, UK, reflecting his commitment to research excellence, public health, and laboratory quality

    15. Prof. Taslima Yasmin
    Dr Taslima Yasmin is Professor and HOD in the Department of Microbiology at President Abdul Hamid Medical College, Kishoregonj, Bangladesh. She is working as Academic Coordinator, member of Medical Education Unit, Member of Editorial board of Journal of PAHMCJ,Chief editor of College Magazine of President Abdul Hamid Medical College. She is also working as a peer reviewer of Journal of National institute of Neurosciences Bangladesh. Dr Taslima Yasmin was born in Mymensingh District in Bangladesh. She completed MBBS, M.Phil, D-USG in Bangladesh. She had orchid ID. taslima Her research interests are in Molecular bacteriology particularly ESBL producing bacteria, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection prevention and control. She published her research work from national and international journal. She had published 11 articles as first author and 17 articles as co author. She also published one international book named  Prevalence of ESBL among Esch.coli and Kendall’s spp. in a tertiary care Hospital.She attended workshop on Antimicrobial stewardship in NIPSOM Bangladesh and workshop on Antibiogram in IEDCR Bangladesh. She presented her research work in national conferences as both Oral and Poster presentations. She is an enthuastic Researcher and Microbiologist.

    16. Md Sohel Rana
    Md Sohel Rana is a Medical Technologist Laboratory at the Department of Microbiology in the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM), Dhaka. Adjunct Assistant Professor at Department of Health Technology, International Institute of Health Science, Dhaka. He is registered Scientist as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) of American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCPI). He obtained his Diploma in Medical Technology  from the State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh in 2004, his Bachelor of Health Technology degree from DU in 2015 and his MS (Bt &GE) from University of Development Alternative (UODA) in 2023.sohel rana His research interests are in Public Health, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control and Biosafety & Biosecurity. He got training on medical education and applied teaching methodology from Center for Medical Education and advance technology of molecular genetics from icddr’b. He also attended national workshops and seminars and presented his paper as an oral presentation. He is working in various fields as a social worker to develop moral and professional skills. He also entrepreneurs at Icon Medical Scientist Preparatory Centre in Bangladesh.
     
    17. Ms. Apurba Chakma
    Ms Apurba Chakma currently working as Assistant Professor, Chi agong Youngone Nursing College. Apurba Chakma completed B.Sc in Nursing from Armed Forces Medical Ins tute in 2017 and as well as completed MPH from Northern University in 2022. apurbaMs Apurba is a development professional with over 7 years 3 months of professional experience. She is credited with 2 publications and conducted 4 research projects, of which 2 as principal investigator and 2 as Co-investigator. Ms. Apurba specializes in coordinating  and implementing teaching profession. Apurba has proven ability to perform and deliver in challenging situations  under pressure.
